To mark PlayStation 2 reaching world-wide shipments of 50 million units, the video game behemoth is planning to release three limited edition coloured consoles to the Japanese public.

Available from February 20, punters will be able to get their hands on Aqua, Silver and Lilac versions of the PS2 hardware, but for a limited time only. They’ll retail for 25,000 yen, which is around £126 – cheaper than it costs to buy a regular console in the UK.

So if you must have one, get yourself down to the local import shop and put in your pre-order.
