Hello Kitty, of course! And why are we wallowing knee-deep in celebration of Sanrio’s most popular creation? Because a new game is about to be launched featuring everyone’s favourite super-cute Japanese daughter.
To be released for PC by ValuSoft, the pack will comprise eight mini-games, including Mahjong and several card games of Japanese origin.
“The appeal of Hello Kitty is universal, and we're excited to be bringing this property to the interactive market,” said ValuSoft’s VP Scott Zerby. “In keeping with Sanrio's `small gift, big smile' concept, we are giving consumers a chance to put a smile on girls' faces for less than $20.”
"With more than $1 billion dollars in sales worldwide, Hello Kitty has captured the hearts of girls and women like few other brands," said Bruce Giuliano, Vice President of Licensing, at Sanrio. "Now with the release of this game, they can interact with Hello Kitty like never before.”
As you may know, Hello Kitty has had several videogame incarnations already, featuring heavily in a range of Japan-only kiddie-puzzlers. She’s even had her own console, in Sega’s transparent pink special edition Dreamcast, complete with bespoke keyboard.
We’ll let you know when the game, fully titled Hello Kitty Cutie World gets a European release date.
