SquareSoft has licensed out Final Fantasy XI to SkyPerfect TV Studios to create a TV series based around its online RPG title.
According to reports surfacing in Japanese media this morning, the series will be put to air on Channel BB, a dedicated interactive channel. Whether this will link up somehow with either the PlayStation 2 or PC version of the game in Japan remains to be seen, though some level of interactivity is certain.
The format, context and structure of the show are still a mystery. It is also unclear whether it will be live action, animated or CG, but this will become clear in the next few weeks.
Square did mention that the show will heavily feature any new aspects the firm deem to release for its MMORPG, such as characters, bug fixes, costumes and so on.
