We have learned today that the Xbox "exclusive" title Splinter Cell, one of the stars of Microsoft's pre-Christmas line-up will almost certainly be released on the PlayStation 2 and possibly GameCube. The term exclusive was already a little stretched, given a PC version was already confirmed.
The early release of this news, which will probably infuriate Microsoft greatly, confirms that Splinter Cell is exclusive to Xbox for 2002 only. From the first of January 2003, Ubi is free to launch it for the Commodore 64 if it sees fit.
We'll let you know what is disclosed when the new platforms are announced, probably in January next year.
