Namco of Japan has surprisingly announced its intention to release a new Ridge Racer game, following a complete black-out of information on the future of the series.
Speaking at the Tokyo Computer Graphic Film Festival, the company stated that it will release a new Ridge Racer title in 2003, albeit under a different name. It is thought that the blanket shoulder-shrugging Ridge Racer 5 suffered at its PlayStation 2 launch was detrimental to what was seen as a AAA franchise.
Namco also announced that Ace Combat 5 has gone into production for multiple platforms.
