NES Metroid lives!

Link-up reveals forgotten classic.

Nintendo, now on a full scale NES freebie give-away assault, has revealed that the original Metroid will be a playable feature hidden within the upcoming Metroid Prime for GameCube.

The Nintendo fraternity soon forgot Metroid for the NES as the much-loved Super Metroid for the SNES massively superseded it.

If you want to get your mitts on Metroid, here’s what you have to do. The bad/good news is that you’ll first have to equip yourself with a Game Boy Advance, a GameCube, a GC to GBA link-cable, a copy of Metroid Fusion and a copy of Metroid Prime. Good old Nintendo, eh?

Then you’ll need to complete both games and link the systems together. And then, as if by magic, NES Metroid is unlocked.

Yay!
