It has emerged that Postal 2, the controversial follow up to the widely banned PC third-person shooter from 1997, has suffered a slipped release date.
Previously slated for a release this year, development house Running With Scissors has now pushed back its expected completion date to early 2003.
Perhaps some of the development techniques employed by Running With Scissors are to blame for this delay. In a recent interview, company CEO Vince Desi explained some of the highlights in creating the game. “Going to a firing range with Gary Coleman to shoot automatic weapons was a blast! And lighting my driveway on fire for Research and Development was insane.”
Hmm!
For reference, Postal 2 will be a fully 3D affair, this time embracing the first-person-shooter play style. It involves completing tasks, such as going out for milk and picking up your paycheque. Small, irritating incidents will occur until your character flips out and ‘goes postal’.
We’ll bring you more as we get it.
