Yamauchi Q Fund sees Dragon Quest start-up
Nintendo has announced that it has funded a new start-up company headed up by Manabu Yamana, the lead developer behind Dragon Quest 7, arguably the best game in the Enix RPG series.

The studio, funded by former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi’s Q Fund, a cash reserve set aside to fund Nintendo-focused game start-ups, will carry the name Genius Sonority and is currently underway with a full-scale recruitment program.

We can reveal that the new firm, powered by an initial cash injection of 100 million yen, will concentrate solely on developing role playing games for both of Nintendo’s current machines, the Game Boy Advance and the GameCube.

Stay tuned for first game details as they break.
