It would appear that Sega Amusement Vision’s finest creation, Super Monkey Ball, is not going to see a release for the PlayStation 2.
We read with interest last year that Sega had decided to create a version of the seminal party game for Sony’s monster-selling machine. It now appears that this version will never see the light of day.
Nothing was said concerning the game at E3 and nothing has been mentioned since. We called Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to find out what is going on, but were told that at this point in time, the game does not feature on their release schedule.
Sega Europe also declined to make comment.
Oh well, perhaps it’s a good thing that Aiai, Mimi, Baby and Gongon remain as Nintendo exclusives. It seems to suit them, wouldn’t you agree?
Stay tuned for clarification on this matter as it breaks.
