Respawn - the nominally independent team behind the smash hit, online only, multiplayer shooter Titanfall - has pledged the follow-up title to Electronic Arts. And that's not the only big new from the Respawn camp. Apparently the team is also going to work on PS4 titles. Just don't expect
Titanfall to port quite yet.
Gamespot reports that, "The option to land
Titanfall 2 was based on the performance of the original, our source said. Official sales data is not available, but from what we're hearing, Titanfall has performed well and even helped boost Xbox One sales.
When confronted with the notion of
TF2 however, EA responded, "We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying
Titanfall."
We're also reminded that "EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said previously that he is "sure" that potential sequels to
Titanfall could come to PlayStation and/or Nintendo platforms."
So, what about Titanfall for PS4? Vince Zampella of Respawn says that
when it comes to PS4... "Of course (we'll develop)" but on terms of
Titanfall? "Of course we will, just not the first
Titanfall."
Shame! As we go to press... we've also been made aware by
MCV that Titanfall PC will support 4K graphics.
