Electronic Arts Talent Bleed Continues with Chillingo Founders
Only clues to departures appear on LinkedIn...
The exodus of talent from Electronic Arts has expanded with the news that Chillingo founders and Chris Byatte and Joe Wee both departed in December last year with limited fanfare.
These resignations occurred shortly before losing the services of Criterion's Alex Ward and Fiona Perry to form a new studio, and Popcap founders Dave Robers and Jason Kapalka to form another new studio.
We should have guessed at the Chillingo departures given that no mention was made of either man in the press release for the launch of Ninja Theory's Chillingo-published Fightback title on December 19th 2013. Now, both men's LinkedIn profiles show the following detail: "Electronic Arts - 2010 – December 2013 (3 years)".
UK trade organ MCV has also noted the departures.
Where now for Chillingo? Where now for EA?
