UK Video Games Charts: Call of Duty Keeps LEGO Marvel at Bay

Activision's Call of Duty: Ghosts has held the top of the UK Video Games all-formats chart, despite competition from Warner Bros' LEGO Marvel Superheroes.

CoD sales were given a boost by the release of the Xbox One version, despite the fact that the console itself won't actually be out until the end of this week. Still, this is the second strongest debut ever for a LEGO game, with Marvel coming second only to LEGO Indiana Jones: Original Adventures.

A little further down the chart, Chart-Track tells us:

"FIFA 14 (-7%) climbs a spot to No3 swapping places with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (-37%) which is down to No4. Last week's No2 Battlefield 4 (-48%) drops to No5 while Grand Theft Auto V (-11%) is down to No6. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (+8%) sees a boost in sales but also drops down a place to No7. Skylanders Swap Force (+11%) climbs two places to No8 helped by the early release of both Xbox One and PS4 version of the game ahead of the next gen launch. Nintendo's Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (+33%) moves up to No10, up three places from its debut last week. The title along with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask which climbs to No20, both benefit from retailer bundling which contributes to 3DS XL hardware sales more than doubling last week's total."

Further down still, Sony's Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus enters at Number 21. XCOM makes another apprentice, with Enemy Within debuting at Number 25.
