Most Insane Anti-Video Gaming Story Ever
In the wake of GTAV absolutely stomping all over other entertainment media in terms of monetary and therefore popular success, the mainstream media has discovered one of two ways of dealing with the 'new video game playing sensation'.

You either jump up and down yelling, "But although I write for the Old Statesman magazine, I've been playing games since the Atari Amiga 2600 and I love Sonic the Plumber!" or you go with 'Video Games Hate Britain/America!" Well, WTVM in the USA went with the latter:

"Man found shot to death, last seen playing video games" screams the headline to a story by one Brittany Dionne, the 'primary law reporter' for WTVM's News Leader 9 show.

So, what's the link? Well the entire story is:

A Columbus man has been found shot to death inside a car in a residential neighborhood. Andy Phillip, 30, was found dead in a car on 2934 Branton Woods Dr. in Columbus.

Authorities tell News Leader 9 Phillip was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at 1:13am.

Phillip's mother says the last time she saw her son was around 10:30pm. She explains he was playing video games when she went to bed. She was unaware he'd left the house until she received the call he'd been shot.

Phillip is Columbus' 18th murder victim this year. His body has been sent to Atlanta for an autopsy. Columbus Police are investigating the case as a homicide.

Yes! No connection at all.

Go over and give your best to WTVM on their excellent jurnulismz.

Wait... What??

The story just states the fact that the man was last seen playing video games before he was found dead, at no point does it imply video games were related to his death. The only bad journalism here is on Spong's part.

@Jon_Cotton So you didn't spot the it where they used a headline to imply there was some link between video games & murder? Really? There is no good reason to mention video games other than to sensationalise. "Man found shot to death, Last seen driving car." See how stupid it looks now?
