Tom Clancy, thriller writer and the man whose name launched what seems like a thousand video game titles is dead in the USA at the age of 66.
Ubisoft, which publishes Clancy related titles such as Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, has already published its corporate sadness.
Clancy died in Baltimore and his death was confirmed by his UK publisher, Penguin Books. It is not expected that the author's death will stem the flow of games that carry his name.
