Warner Bros. has confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins contains an unlockable, ultra-hardcore permadeath mode.Speaking to Eurogamer at EGX,
Arkham Origins producer Guillaume Voghel explained that, "The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours and then you have all the collectibles. To get 100 per cent of that will take much, much longer. We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming pack - that's really difficult - and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode - which is no saves and one life."
The mode was mentioned in a
leak of
Arkham Origins' Xbox achievements, but it wasn't all that clear what it was. It apparently comes with a gamerscore of 70.
Voghel also expanded a little on what the
Arkham Origins Initiation DLC, mentioned as
part of the game's season pass last week, entails. The DLC features a younger Bruce Wayne training in Asia. It's not related to the League of Assassins, however - it's ninja stuff based in a monastary. The mentor featured in the DLC, Kirigi, did teach Ra's al Ghul, however.
