PlayStation 4 Camera takes on Xbox Kinect in the Face
Voice and face recognition and you don't have to have one
Sony's appearance at the Tokyo Games Show is being cracking appearance thus far - maybe not if you're actually Japanese and want a PS4 - but for everybody else, job's a good un. One the best bits for us is the good news about the PS4 camera.
Unlike Kinect 2 and the Xbox One, you don't *have* to own a PS4 camera. Like the Kinect, however, the new PS4 Camera does have voice and face recognition.
Slashdot reports that, "The camera will allow the console’s owner to start up the system and log in using the Camera, something that brings a more integrated experience to the console over the last console. Sony didn’t have much to say on this particular piece of hardware, but did go on to say that it also have voice recognition in addition to facial recognition."
Possibly even better than this is the fact that the camera is sold separately from the PS4, and as we know, will cost £44.99.
