PS+ customers who opted for the digital download of GTA V were promised a pre-download date of September 13th - four days before the game's release - Sony aren't playing by the rules though.See, on the sly, Sony changed the pre-load date to the 16th. It's (probably) not Sony's fault that the date had to change - it's (probably) all on Rockstar, but not informing your customers that it's been changed is a bit low, right?
When PS+ customers came to pre-load their copy this morning, they were unable to... Sony made a big big mistake - the Official Sony Forums have EXPLODED (not literally, but you'll find out what I mean).
With comments ranging from "Wtfff, why now is 16th? [DELETED] stupid sony, scam company, now all people will pre-load at the same time and their servers will be slow as a [DELETED]" to "And they say digital downloads are the future. Not like this they [DELETED] ain't.".
Now, usually you could read a story like these and be all 'I wouldn't expect anything less from pubescent teens', BUT (before you take up your keyboards as arms) but wait and re-read with part of the first quote in the previous paragraph.
Now, it is possible to see why folk are getting irate about this. If Sony don't release the pre-load until 10pm on the 16th, there's going to be a tsunami of gamers trying to download their copy, which will likely cause their servers to crash.
And even if the servers withstand the onslaught, the download size for a game of this caliber is going to be huge! Who can guarantee everyone's copy will be ready before the midnight release?
Anyway, we're just going to leave this link right here for... entertainment purposes.
