CoD: Ghosts not GTA V: The "Most Pre-Ordered Game Of 2013"

You're just as surprised as us, right? Well, yep, according to US retailer GameStop, Ghosts could well beat GTA V to the 'most-preordered game of 2013' title.
The retailer's senior VP of merchandising, Bob Puzon said that "Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts."
He went on to say "We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year."
Now here at SPOnG, we found this story particularly interesting, so we sat down and went through some possible reasons for Ghosts taking the top spot - the obvious one being that 'people like CoD more than GTA'.
Even with that thought came disagreements, so we started looking into it. Ghosts is available on next-gen consoles, whereas GTA V isn't. Could that be it? Surely they'll accumulate more pre-orders by covering more platform-ground?
We pondered that point for a while, and then came across quite a humorous little press release that states that GameStop are offering a CoD: Ghosts + Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 bundle. Could Activision really that scared of GTA V to start with? Or could that be the reason for the extra pre-orders?
Bear in mind of course, that 'most pre-orders' does not mean 'biggest selling'...

GTA V was wayyyyy ahead of CoD ghosts at the same amount of time left.
GTA V is currently the most preordered title of all time, beating out black ops 2 at its 2 week period.
I dont know why you write an article based off some random source "saying" something. GTA V had more preorders when it was at 8 weeks left. GTA V is simply going to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time.

GTA V is not going to be the 'biggest entertainment launch of all time'. thats a load of BS, im not saying its a crap game but it wont be the best launch of ALL time. Cod Ghosts is more addicting and destroys popularity.

CoD is the same thing every year so I don't buy them anymore. GTA V on the other hand had a lot more work put into it and isn't a copy of the last game with new guns.

COD has list so much momentum Due to the same game every year, All though COD is very addicting, The last few have been rather dissapointing. I usually prefer COD over GTA because it can get boring. Recently with just about every game tht has came out (Halo4, Judgment,BO2) they have all really sucked and i'm tired o wasting the cash. Cod looks dif from previous games but I may jus go with GTA
