EA has announced that it has a free-to-play FIFA game heading to PC in Brazil and Russia.Titled
FIFA World, the game will be out in November, though a beta is taking registrations now.
The game will feature gameplay based around pre-Ignite, next-gen
FIFA code, with Ultimate Team sitting at the heart of the game. EA is promising over 30 licensed leagues, including the Russian Premier League and more than 600 clubs, including 19 licensed Brazilian clubs.
This isn't EA's first foray into free-to-play with
FIFA. It already has
FIFA Online 3 running in Korea.
“Brazil and Russia are priority markets for EA Sports and especially our
FIFA brand. We are excited to bring to these markets a custom-built, free-to-play PC experience developed around FIFA Ultimate Team,” said Matt Bilbey, senior VP and group general manager at EA Sports.
