Eve Online - the TV Series - Gets a Director
Baltasar Kormákur - awesome name for an awesome guy but he doesn't play video games
If you've seen award-winning Icelandic movie, The Deep or are preparing to watch 2 Guns out of Hollywood, then you already know about the work of Eve Online TV series director, Baltasar Kormákur.
The man himself is aware of the monumental task ahead of him as he seeks to turn what is largely a fan-made universe, complete with politics and currency, into a more easily digestible mass appeal TV format.
"If you’re going to do it to be most creative guy in the world, you may as well come up with your own idea,” he says. “There’s no reason to take something dear to people and just tramp on it.”
What's going to cause uproar in the comments however, is the fact that he is not a gamer but this isn't going to stop him, "I have a problem with movie-lovers who hate remakes or say ‘you can’t do this.’ You can do anything, as long as the end product is worth watching. You can make a film from a poem, from a dream, from a series of books, a novel, an article in the newspaper, a video game—as long as you manage to make it stand on its own feet."
