EA - Waiting for Sony and Microsoft Before Game Pricing
Electronic Arts is a good weathervane for the rest of the mainstream video game publishing industry so when it says it can't price games for the new Sony and Microsoft platforms because it's waiting... for Microsoft and Sony, it has wider implications.

Speaking in answer to Andrew E. Crum - Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Inc., Research Division's question regarding New Gen pricing Peter Moore - President and Chief Operating Officer of EA - replied:

"On the next gen pricing strategy, we have not announced obviously any pricing that is set by the retailer. We're working on our pricing strategy right now for the holiday. We need more information obviously from our first-party partners. But no announcements to make. Those will come from retailers when they set their prices."

So, bit of a strangled answer that on one hand suggests EA doesn't set prices (that's the law in a lot of countries , just ask Nintendo which fell foul of that some time ago); on the other hand it states that EA is relying on info from first-parties: Sony an Nintendo.
