New Chibi-Robo Game Hits Japanese Nintendo eShop
Obscure Nintendo character Chibi-Robo has returned in a new 3DS augmented reality game. The title, Chibi-Robo Photography, was suddenly released on the Japanese eShop last night. Nobody even knew it was in development! Well, it's nice to get a good surprise once in a while.

The game uses the 3DS stereoscopic cameras to take pictures of the world around the player. Tasks include finding real-world objects and snapping them whilst lining them up with the silhouette shown on screen. Successful pictures will bring those objects into Chibi-Robo's world, where the cute little robot will interact with them.

Chibi-Robo's first appearance was in cult Nintendo Gamecube adventure game of the same name. It was released quite late into the boxy console's life, but it's worth getting, as we loved it. Check out our now-ancient review of the game from 2006. The character saw two Nintendo DS follow-ups, but neither saw a release in Europe.

Chibi-Robo Photography is available to download on Japanese 3DS systems at a price of ¥1500.
