Nomura Reveals Plans for Final Fantasy XV Sequels
Just as Square Enix finally gets round to finishing off Final Fantasy XV (nee Versus XIII), there's talk of making more games! Tetsuya Nomura, the long-MIA director, revealed that the publisher plans to expand the scope of his project, with follow-up games releasing in a similar fashion to Final Fantasy XIII.

"While Final Fantasy XV will have one climax, as a story, we plan to continue it further," he said in an interview with Famitsu. He added that future stories in the XV universe will be developed in a much faster time frame than this game, which has been in development for eight years now.

"Having you wait a long while for a next title isn’t something we would desire," he said, noting that the ability to expand the Final Fantasy XV universe in follow-up games eased the pressure to cram everything Nomura had envisioned into one package.

He's very apologetic about the whole eight-year thing, by the way. "I deeply apologize for having you wait for so long. I hope that our latest announcement has been able to meet all of your expectations," Nomura said. “From this point on, the quality will only be getting better.

"There are many of you who feel that Japanese developers have fallen behind those from the West in the current generation. I believe that this title will show you otherwise for the next generation."

Let's hope so. Nomura also announced Kingdom Hearts III was in development at Sony's E3 press conference. Let's hope that doesn't take eight years to come out.

They could have made a remastered FFVII in eight years, couldn't they? :P
