Konami has released a few new screenshots and a tonne of new details on the upcoming, FOX Engine-powered Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. And boy, is there a lot of info.

Using Kojima Productions' FOX Engine, PES Productions is able to "produce a game much closer to their vision of recreating the excitement and variety of a top-level match," reads the exhaustive press release. "Gone are the limitations imposed by dated animation systems and AI elements, and instead PES 2014 boasts a central core that perfectly mimics the skill and awareness that elevates the world’s greatest players above their peers."

There are six key pillars driving development of PES 2014. These are: TrueBall Tech (focusing on greater player dynamics and greater ball physics); the Motion Animation Stability System (a simulation of bodily contact between players, rather than preset animations); PES ID (faithful recreation of individual characteristics of certain players); Team Play (more advanced tactical options); The Core (gameplay and visual enhancements); Heart (emotional hooks to convey the excitement of a football match).

You can read more about each of these pillars in greater depth right here. Konami also released a video showcasing the FOX Engine's application to the football franchise, which you can watch here.
