Konami has announced a new game in its Bishi Bashi series called Great Bishi Bashi Champ, due to hit the arcades in the next couple of months, with a PlayStation 2 version to follow. Featuring 142 entirely new mini-games, Great Bishi Bashi Champ is set to be the largest game in the nauseatingly good series.
If Bishi Bashi were food, it would be a plate of assorted Astro Belts with extra citric acid. This is disposable gaming junk that would displease even the most digital-friendly of parents.
However, the gameplay mechanism and true playability of the Bishi Bashi series, combined with a Japan-centric multi-player ethos and frenetic game-speed dictates that Konami’s party game is one of the finest examples of gaming available.
