Shaquille O'Neal Trademarks 'Shaqfighter'
Could it be..? Mine O' Mine, the company owned by basketball star Shaquille O'Neal, has registered a trademark called 'Shaqfighter' - suggesting that a spiritual sequel to the hilariously awful Shaq Fu is in the works.

According to Siliconera, the filing covers the trademark for 'video games, computer game software, online games and action skill games.' Perhaps, nothing will come of it - trademarks are registered all the time - but if the Shaq is planning to jump into the fighting game space again... Good lord.

Shaq Fu was originally released on the Sega Mega Drive, SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear and Amiga in the mid-1990s. Although it was incredibad - with a story that involved the sports star being teleported to another dimension and tasked with beating down an evil mummy - it has a bit of a cult following in some retro circles.

It's worth pointing out that Shaq's Mine O' Mine company largely deals with the operation of the celebrity's official website. So it's entirely possible that this could be a browser game, if the trademark is acted upon. But what Shaqfighter actually is, is anyone's guess at the moment.

Prepare the salt. Shaq's making moves.
