Legendary film director John Carpenter has expressed an interest in making a Dead Space film. This could be a movie tie-in that would actually be worth watching!Best known for such horror and science fiction works as
The Thing and
Halloween, Carpenter went on record in a recent interview to discuss how a
Dead Space flick would be directed. "The first game was more – I guess it was like Alien – but not quite. It was a little different than that," he said.
"I maintain that
Dead Space would just make a great movie because you have these people coming onto an abandoned, shut-down space ship and they have to start it up and something’s on board. It’s just great stuff.
"I would love to make
Dead Space [into a film], I’ll tell you that right now. That one is ready-made."
On the subject of movie tie-ins, the film creator also admitted to "stupidly" buying
Aliens: Colonial Marines, and noted the fiasco that surrounded its release. "It's all about money... It's not that something is being mistreated, it's just another marketing issue."
