Ubisoft appears to have bungled its reveal of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, originally intended for official unveiling at 5pm today. Official trailers and game details aplenty leaked over the weekend, forcing the publisher to show its cards early. As such, we'll share some of these details with you right now.
The game will feature Connor Kenway's grandfather, Edward Kenway, who is a pirate. He will travel the West Indies/Caribbean on the search for booty and treasure and all that comes with it. Along the way, he becomes embroiled in the legendary fight between Assassins and Templars.
Famous pirate characters such as Blackbeard, Charles Vane and Anne Bonny will feature, as well as a number of quests which will cover 50 unique locations on multiple islands. The naval segments introduced in Assassin's Creed III will return, as part of a hub world feature.
The game will hit current-generation hardware, as well as PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
