It's happening! After teasing the game last month, CD Projekt RED has formally announced the existence of The Witcher 3, a sequel that will be arriving in 2014 on "all high-end platforms available."
Subtitled Wild Hunt, the game will make use of the studio's new REDengine 3 technology. What does this mean? It means a truly open world, some 30 times bigger than that of The Witcher 2. Larger than Skyrim's, apparently. Jesus. Can anyone say, 'next-generation console release'?
Of the tidbits of info gleaned from the Game Informer reveal, CD Projekt RED said The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt focuses on "a tired hero who wants to set things right but can't put down his swords until his conscience allows - if it ever does... [an open world featuring] stormy islands to war-torn forests and a sprawling dark fantasy metropolis without a loading screen anywhere to be found."
The game will also focus on 'monster hunting', mystery solving and completely rebuilt enemy AI. Check out more by watching the video below.
