It is Consumer Electronics Show time in the States and the CES Press Pool (aka the CES Pool) is out in force. In fact it's got its teeth into Sony CEO Kaz Hirai, who through clenched teeth (we think) talked about the PS Vita among other things.
Speaking after Sony's CES keynote in which phrases such as "grow smaller to grow bigger" and "TV division, eh? What?" might have been spoken Mr Hirai talked Vita:
“I would say it’s on the low end of what we expected."
He went on to say, according to the Wall Street Journal that, "it takes 5-10 years before he can say a product has been successful. He said similar questions were asked about the PlayStation 3 early in its cycle, but he now sees that console as a success. “Long term is what is important,” he said."
