Dark Souls - one of the hippest games of recent years. So incredibly hardcore that if you even thought about thinking that it was too hard for you, well, you may as well as hated all games and just died because you are too weak for real gaming. Well, friends, the sequel is coming. The trailer is here.
The game comes from From Software and, according to someone in marketing over there, "presents opportunities for us to drive innovation in gameplay design, develop an entirely new story, and expand the scope of the world in which the player interacts with the game...
The voice continues to batter your face and eyes with... "We have taken these necessary steps with Dark Souls 2 in order to evolve the overall experience of the Dark Souls series." Actually, these words of sanitising salesmanship come from From Software’s Tomohiro Shibuya, the director of Dark Souls 2.
But wait! Before you become scared that From Software might actually innovate and therefore change the game, a game of glorious pure gaming glory (seriously, you won't last 5 minutes but that's like proper old gaming!) we're also informed that:
"The entire development team is striving to make Dark Souls 2 an experience that is fresh while not forsaking its roots in presenting players with challenging gameplay. Our goal is to surprise and delight our fans with new experiences and plot twists while enticing new players to join our dark journey," said Tomohiro Shibuya.
The RPG of hardcoreness is being developed for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC with a release date of "Sometime, you know, whenever" (our quote by us) rather than anything specific.
