Nike takes Sega to court
Sportswear Behemoth Nike has announced that it is to sue Sega of America and has filed a suit in the Los Angeles courts.

The row centres around a commercial for the Sega Sports title NBA2K2 that is receiving a great deal of airtime in the States. Nike believes that Sega has copied the format from its Frozen Moment campaign featuring Michael Jordan.

The suit makes claims of copyright infringement and unfair competition and states that by way of compensation, Nike would like either a single cash payment or royalties from game sales on a per-unit basis.

Nike is also seeking to have all master copies of the ad compounded and its immediate withdrawal from the airwaves.
