This latest licensed game from EA is a techie’s delight, with the development team pulling out all the stops to ensure that it impresses, both in terms of realism and gameplay.
An all-new wet-weather engine will see the cars on slippery tracks like never before. Check this out: EA states that the game will include “…raindrops on the camera that reverse the image you see through them and fade and blur with time,” which, you have to admit, is impressive.
As we have come to expect with EA Sports titles, this new game will feature complete teams from the F1 season along with all the drivers and officials involved.
EA is also confident in the success of Microsoft’s Xbox as a gaming platform across Europe. “We think Microsoft has a strong opportunity to succeed in Europe. Their North American launch in late 2001 is considered an unmitigated success and provides a powerful base for them to expand on. In the U.S., EA games like Madden NFL Football, NBA Live, Cel Damage, and Simpson's Road Rage all performed well on the Xbox. In NorAm, EA has plans for several more Xbox titles.”
F1 2002 will make up part of the impressive Xbox launch line-up in Europe and will be released alongside the console on March 14 this year.
