Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance will not be seeing an Xbox 360 release in Japan. It will now be a PlayStation 3 exclusive there.
The publisher revealed the cancellation on the game's official website. A translation of the statement reads, "Due to various reasons, the launch of the Japanese version [will] be made only PlayStation 3... We have been looking forward to the launch in the Xbox 360, to everyone of the persons concerned, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."
As a result, a demo version of Metal Gear Solid Revengeance will now only be available in the PlayStation 3 version of Zone of the Enders HD Edition.
With Microsoft's weak grasp of the Japanese market, the decision by Konami to snub the Xbox 360 makes sense. There's no word if this cancellation will affect other regions, although given the popularity of the console in the West, it's not very likely.
