Xbox Brand Moves from Console as Microsoft Unveils First Windows 8 Games

When is an Xbox game not an Xbox game? When it's a PC game? Aha! Think again - Microsoft is introducing Xbox games for its upcoming Windows 8 operating system. It's just another step in disassociating the Xbox brand as a single hardware platform, in favour of a larger, more connected multimedia service.

In any case, Microsoft is obviously excited about the transition, and has released a list of games that will be made available on Xbox Windows 8. Don't get too excited yet though... they're closer to XBLA-style titles than your full-blown Skyrims and Gears of Wars. Angry Birds, BlazBlue, Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride... that sort of thing.
