EA Label's president Frank Gibeau has followed up his July statement - which we reported here - that "We are working closely with the console manufacturers and we are VERY excited about the Gen4 consoles that will be launched in the months and years ahead..."
Speaking to Bloomberg about Madden this week he was asked about declining sales of consoles at the end of a cycle. His response was quite straightforward:
"The new hardware is going to be coming out in about a year’s time, so we’re right around this period in time when the market’s going to slow down and then you have a new game changer coming with all new technology, all new hardware, and another growth period.”
