In Japan, the release of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F on August 30 will be something of a momentous occasion. The Vocaloid star is huge there - so it's no surprise to see that SEGA will be taking advantage of that fact by staging a huge pre-launch festival in Yokohama.
Yeah. Not party. Festival. Live performances, carnival games, demos and merchandise stalls will all be present in the Summer's End 39 Festival. Although general admission is free, SEGA is allowing a limited number of 2,000 people to access a special "water stage area".
It's not just in aid of the release of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F, which we imagine Sony is hoping will beed up sales of its PlayStation Vita device in Japan, but of the franchise's fifth anniversary too. To this end, Sony will be creating a special Hatsune Miku branded Walkman (Walkman. Remember those?) in either blue or black for ¥12,800 (or £105) from this site.
