Namco Bandai Profits Up as Soul Calibur V Shifts 1 Million
Things seem to be going well for Japanese third party publishers in the past quarter - following good news from Capcom and SEGA, Namco Bandai has posted some promising Q1 financials as Soul Calibur V sales hit one million units.

Total sales reached ¥108.6 billion, an increase of 23 per cent over the same period last year (¥88.2 billion, if you're interested). Net income shot up by 214 per cent, generating ¥10.2 billion to 2011's ¥3.2 billion. The company's content division (read: gaming) performed better than all others with a 160 per cent increase - ¥59.9 billion.

The figures came from healthy sales of Soul Calibur V and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, which shifted 680,000 and 440,000 units respectively.

Namco Bandai has changed its expectations upwards for the next quarter, based on strong performances of titles to hit within the next few months.
