Final Fantasy XIV hasn't had the best of starts. The troubled MMO is to get a complete revamp - both in terms of game code and marketing - with Version 2 of the software, titled A Realm Reborn. Square Enix has detailed some features that will be removed as part of the streamlined experience.A laundry list of items, Guild Marks, Achievements and other collectibles will be removed during the transition to Version 2, and the publisher is issuing a warning to players informing them of the change - suggesting that such items in a player's account might not be usable or even carried over when updated.
You can check out the full list of removed items by heading to the
MMO's official website here. Square Enix says of the V2.0 update that, "This adventure has been rebuilt from the ground up, and centers on the core concept of rebirth, featuring a new world to explore and storyline to experience."
No word on a release date for the still-planned PlayStation 3 version. Square Enix is likely holding off to see how players react to A Realm Reborn before committing to a console release.
