Sony: "No Definitive Plans" for Resistance
Burning Skies on Vita title is the last one for a while.
Resistance: Burning Skies attempted (and stumbled) to set fire to the PlayStation Vita when it was released earlier this month, but don't expect a companion title on the handheld - or on the PS3 - to happen any time soon. Sony has has "no definitive plans" for the series.
That comes from SCEE Online producer Daniel Brooke, who worked on Burning Skies. Developer Insomniac, who created the series, called time on Resistance after releasing a trilogy of FPS action games for the PlayStation 3. The Vita spinoff was developed by Sony studio Nihilistic.
"The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future we have no definitive plans," Brooke told OPM.
Does this mean the series is dead and buried? Hardly. Companies say stuff like this all the time. But, if it does return, we probably won't see mention of it for at least another year or so.
