Sequel Confirmed for Dragon's Dogma
Cult RPG hit Dragon's Dogma is to get a sequel, Capcom has announced. Prepare those tasty J-Rock guitar riffs!

The Japanese publisher pretty much confirmed that a successor is to be made, after revealing that it will be developed into a major franchise. It follows impressive sales figures that saw Capcom ship one million copies to retailers worldwide.

While it performed well in the UK, debuting high in the Top 10 in its first week, it's in Japan where the game has seen its greatest success to date, with staggering week one sales of 302,040 units.

Now, let's all join hands, be brave and sing the Dragon's Dogma anthem:

This is good news, I still think that theme is misplaced (it's awesome on it's own, but has no place in a 'serious' fantasy RPG)

I can see why it sold so well. I hope the sequel has a more substantial story, and some more polish: less bugs, cleaner graphics, more NPC activity, etc. But all gripes aside Dragon’s Dogma was a great surprise for me. I was going to skip it, but my coworker at Dish kept insisting that I play it. So I put it in my Blockbuster @Home queue and rented it through the mail. I’ve been playing it a week solid already and I think I’m only halfway through. Games this size make me glad I’m not renting games from Redbox anymore because at a couple bucks a day, it would get expensive.
