Rebellion must be chuffed that its "Kill Hitler" add-on for Sniper Elite V2 (rated 'MA15+') has finally done its job and got at least one bunch of zealots up in arms. It's got to be said, of course, that it's also giving us a story. So, let's get to it:
Australia's
Herald Sun paper reports that:
"A CONTROVERSIAL new video game that allows players to assassinate Adolf Hitler and shows graphic X-ray footage of bullets tearing through flesh will be in the hands of our children this week."
Upper-cased "CONTROVERSIAL" and the use of "our children" is box-ticking wonderfully there. What's the story?
" Wallace, managing director of the Australian Christian Lobby, said the context of the violence was "rubbish" and the game should have been refused classification.
"It's sick ... we should be doing everything we can to ensure that the level of explicit violence isn't allowed to increase at a time when games are becoming more sophisticated, interactive and real," he said.
