Electronic Arts has announced that it will be canceling all future production on Majestic, its unique PC role-playing game.
The game, that embroiled players in a simulated conspiracy featured real-world interaction such as faxes, SMS messages, emails and phone calls, has cost EA a colossal seven million dollars already
Jeff Brown, vice president of corporate communications for EA, said, "Maybe the consumer didn't get it, but in five years, everyone's going to be making games based on this engine. I'm not apologizing for anything!" Electronic Arts getting stung when innovating a new game type is quite surprising. Surprising in as mush as the company actually bothered to create something completely new that is.
By the way, did any of our readers see ‘The Game’ starring Michael Douglas? It really was an excellent film…
