Assassin's Creed III - First Video and Anti-British Sentiment Galore!
Assassin’s Creed III will be set during the American War of Independence aka the American Revolutionary War and it will be in the shops on October 31, 2012. It's the "largest project in Ubisoft’s history". It "also introduces a brand new hero."

It also appears that the British really are the bad fellows. Well, historically and given that the victor writes history... you can't really argue with that.

Let's not for one moment think that getting more Americans to buy a game produced by a French company and a French/Canadian development team might result in draping said game in the Star Spangled Banner... because we've not see the full game. There will undoubtedly be twists.

Anyway, here's what we've been told, "Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars.

"Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army."

Woaaaah there! "Ruthless tyranny"? Frankly we're a little hurt and may not invite Ratohnaké:ton with his easier to pronounced and spell name of 'Connor' over for tea and cucumber sandwiches as he sounds like a bit of a traitorous cad.

I'm not going to be keen to play this if the plot is specifically about killing the british redcoats in some hyped up historically inaccurate way!

The victors write the history books, and the French helped the Yanks win. So suck it up!

its not so much about killing the british that annoy me, its that they portray america as heroes here when first off, they are all religious here and therefore templars. I mean come on, the templars in modern time in-universe are so powerful, yet they lose in EVERY itteration of assassins creed, it just makes you think "How did they remain so powerful?", its because the americans are the evil templars.

Besides, even in the revolutionary war, the americans didnt even fight it, they forced irish immigrants to fight it and still were about to lose until the french saved them, and the french did all the work because they suffered more casualities

Will, are you retarted in your knowlege of history? Where did you learn your 'all knowing ways' of Amercan History? Why don't you shut the f**k up and be a little more analytical before you open your erroneous mouth. I do believe Empire still rules northern Ireland. Better a Yank then a smelly mouth British Wank!

Will.C you moron, only americans are foolish enough to believe their own history lessons. The yanks were losing badly before the French, Spanish & Dutch joined in and even then suffered heavy defeats against the German & British soldiers. Ignorant moron.

Will.C you state no relevant facts. The fighting in Ireland is merely the dispute between Catholicism and Presbyterianism and has nothing to do with this game. Like Gitch rightly stated, the French (specifically) won the American Revolution for the yanks and in doing so bankrupted their economy back in Europe. You cannot deny this game is twisting historical facts unethically out of proportion

hmm but the Americans have a tendency to rewrite history to suit themselves weather they win or not. i know this wasn't made by Americans but it's clearly using their ignorant view on history @DoctorDee

It's irrelevent who won the war or not, even who helped who- the point is that America is being portrayed as being this great nation oppressed by the evil British, which those of us slightly more knowledgable in the subject of history will know that just wasn't the case. The game would be fine if the assassin was a neutral entity fighting against both sides equally (like in previous games), however it does not- it's completely anti British and generally racist.
