"Inside Source" at Capcom States Obvious: New Darkstalkers Coming
Project was already hinted at some eight months ago.
"Darkstalkers are not Dead." We've known this for nearly eight months now, when a teaser was presented by Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono last year. But now whispers are roaming around the internet suggesting that a formal announcement of a brand new game in the gothic fighting series isn't so far away.
According to a source on VentureBeat, Darkstalkers 4 will use a modified version of the engine used for Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken. Attention from Ono moved onto Darkstalkers when principal development for the Capcom and Namco crossover finished late last year.
Capcom, for its part, has once again said that, "We have made no announcements." But given that a new Darkstalkers has been on the cards since last July, we wouldn't put these comments down to an epic soothsaying. More like someone stating the bloody obvious. Still, we can't wait.
