Was there any doubt that Call of Duty would hit the PlayStation Vita? Well, if there was it can all be put to rest - Sony has revealed that the next iteration of Activision's war shooter series will see a release on its fancy do-all handheld.Enter senior vice president of PlayStation's brand marketing, Guy Longsworth, who lets slip on
GameTrailers TV stating that his teenage sons are "really looking forward to
Call of Duty on Vita, and we think that's going to be an absolute game-changer for the platform."
So there you go then. Expect a handheld version of the next Call of Duty alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 boxes in your local game store. No word on whether the Vita version will be the same as its console brothers as yet, but since Sony is pushing for "console quality experience in the palm of your hand" we'd imagine it could be.
As a bonus, Longsworth also made clear that its console-based first-party studios will be committed to the device, adding that we "absolutely will" see Naughty Dog developing for Vita. "You'll see a number of games coming out from all out studios."
