After weeks of teasing, we finally know what Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 looks like. And the details didn't come from Sega - funnily enough, the details were discovered on the game's product page on Microsoft's Xbox website.
As previously reported, Tails joins Sonic this time around, and he's not there just to run into things and screw you up in Special Stages (which take a cue from the classic Sonic 2 Mega Drive half-pipe runs, by the way). An online and offline co-op mechanic is included, long with combination attacks and moves to traverse various areas.
Four levels can be seen in the batch of screenshots, first discovered by fansite The Sonic Stadium - an ice stage, a carnival stage, an oil field and an underwater Aquatic Ruins-inspired stage. Even Sonic's trusty Tornado plane makes an appearance. And look - there's Metal Sonic on the same rocket Tails designed to blast off into space in little-known brawler Sonic the Fighters.
