Capcom and Kaarst, the wireless division of THQ, have released some information and screens for Street Fighter for mobile phones. THQ won the rights to make a wireless version from Capcom earlier in the year, and development at UK-based Warthog has begun, as you can see from the screens!
In its 14 years in arcades and homes, the brilliant fighting series from Capcom has sold a staggering 24 million units and has generated more than $1 billion. Capcom has been ‘shoryukening’ all the way to the bank for the past 14 years!
“Street Fighter is more than a game, it’s a legend,” said Tim Coupe Warthog’s VP of Mobile and Hand Held Devices. “The franchise has a history of pushing technology to improve gameplay and this will carry on with its transfer to mobile phones.”
Although play mechanic details were not available at time of going to press, insiders have confirmed that the game will include both real-time and turn-based elements.
More as we get it.
