Sega of Japan has signed a deal with Kansai Multimedia that will see Sega’s long-standing dream of games on demand realised.
Due for launch in April 2002, broadband users will be able to log on to the network and download full PC games. This will extend to console games at some point in the future.
Payment details remain secret at this point, but it is widely expected that Sega will implement two distinct models. The first being the download of entire games, and the second an episodic download process, that will see players pay per-level downloaded.
