Tragic game reenactment involved in child shooting
Disturbing reports have emerged from San Francisco, detailing a tragic shooting over the weekend. Jose Iniguez was shot once in the chest by an unnamed boy on Thursday afternoon, whilst his mother slept, stated Nelida Stone, San Joaquin Sheriffs Department.

The investigation team said that the two brothers had been playing Operation Winback on the Nintendo 64, when they started to re-enact scenes from the game. Then the younger brother, “wanted to get more real and got papa's gun.” It would appear that the older brother decided this was too dangerous and tried to take the gun from his ill-fated sibling. Although the clip was empty, there was one bullet in the chamber. At some point during the attempted confiscation of the .25 calibre firearm, the trigger was pulled and 8 year-old Jose was fatally shot in the chest.

"They were playing at the time," Stone said. "It wasn't like they were fighting. It was a tragic accident."

Although the older brother initially told the police that Jose had shot himself, he later admitted to pulling the trigger. No charges are expected to be brought against the boy, but his father, who said he owned the gun due to security work, and his mother, will most likely be charged for keeping an unsecured, loaded weapon.

This tragedy, however one looks upon it, is simply the result of poor parenting and the lax gun laws in the States. 25 years ago, the boys would have been playing Cowboys and Indians.
